Income Eligible Program

Get special offers to improve your home’s energy efficiency.
A Massachusetts Family
Through the Income Eligible Program, eligible homeowners and renters receive no-cost insulation and air-sealing upgrades, heating and cooling equipment upgrades, as well as new home appliances and more.

Insulation and air sealing work hand in hand to weatherize your home, saving you energy and money and making your home more comfortable. Air sealing is usually the first step—eliminating leakage points in your home, like those found in attics, basements, and between joists.

Benefits of insulation and air sealing improvements include:

  • Lowering heating and cooling costs by up to 20%
  • Decreasing drafts to improve comfort and humidity all year long
  • Minimizing outside noise for a quieter, more peaceful environment
  • Preventing allergens and pests from entering your home
  • Reducing the chance of ice dams—protecting your home from potential damage

National Grid Customers: The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities has approved National Grid’s request for additional funding to meet the high demand for National Grid’s Income-Eligible Energy Efficiency Electric and Gas Services. Effective August 9, 2024, National Grid has lifted the temporary pause and resumed delivery of all services.

Through this program, you may qualify for no-cost upgrades, including:

  • Replacement of your heating system with high-efficiency heat pumps
  • Installation of additional attic, wall, and basement insulation
  • Air sealing of the drafty areas of your home
  • Replacement appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, window air conditioners, and/or clothes washers if your current appliances are inefficient
  • A programmable, Wi-Fi, or smart thermostat
  • LED energy-saving light bulbs
  • Water-saving faucet aerators and showerheads
  • Advanced power strips
  • Replacement of eligible inefficient windows
