About Mass General Brigham - Martha’s Vineyard Hospital
Mass General Brigham - Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) is a critical access, not-for-profit, community hospital on Martha’s Vineyard. MVH provides high quality, compassionate medical care to the Vineyard’s year-round and seasonal community and all who visit. It was incorporated in April 1921. The hospital is a member of Mass General Brigham and an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital.
Why They Are a 2024 Climate Leader
MVH has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to energy efficiency through its significant upgrades and energy-saving measures over 10+ years. MVH is a LEED rated hospital in the Commonwealth, meeting the highest standards in environmentally sound building practices. MVH is continually implementing new energy-savings measures in the new facility and existing buildings. This includes HVAC upgrades, lighting upgrades and more. The hospital received nearly $700k in incentives from Cape Light Compact and saved 1.47 million kWh or over 5,000 MMBTUs. MVH’s ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy efficiency throughout its buildings has earned its designation as a 2024 Mass Save Climate Leader.
