Steam traps are automatic valves releasing condensed steam while preventing the loss of live steam. Maintaining a regular schedule of steam trap repair and replacement allows steam to flow at a controlled or adjusted rate for optimal energy efficiency.

Steam trap surveys can identify steam trap leaks, flooding, inappropriate design or sizing, defective assembly, inadequate discharge temperatures, high back pressure, obstructions, blockages, and more.

Have a licensed heating contractor or plumber install eligible equipment. Must be installed within the current calendar year.

Consider a steam trap survey to determine the operational state of all traps and identify where steam savings can be made.

The Sponsors of Mass Save will incentivize at least 50% of the survey cost should you proceed with the repair and replacement of the impacted traps. Incentives can also be applied to the repair and replacement portion of the work as well. Learn more about how to participate.
