Mass Save Supports Local Veterans Through FOX 25's "Mission Renovation"

Mass Save has proudly partnered with FOX 25 for the second year on “Mission Renovation”—an initiative to upgrade a Massachusetts military service member’s home with the help of local businesses. Each year, “Mission Renovation” awards one family with a home renovation. Three nominees are selected based on essay submissions and interviews, and the public votes to choose the winner. This year’s winner is the Lange Family from Brockton!

Last year, Mass Save supported “Mission Renovation” by conducting a home energy assessment and donating free lighting to the Eshners of Holbrook. This year, Mass Save will increase its impact by providing lighting design expertise in partnership with TW Lighting, in addition to free lighting.

TW Lighting, a Massachusetts-based lighting manufacturer that produces a full line of ENERGY STAR® certified LED bulbs and fixtures for commercial and residential applications, has generously agreed to donate over 50 ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs to the effort—enough to upgrade every socket in the Lange’s home! In addition, TW Lighting has brought in local lighting showroom Savio Lighting to help with lighting fixture retrofits and overall lighting design. These services will help create a space for the family that is both beautiful and comfortable while cutting their energy expenses.

Throughout the course of “Mission Renovation,” Mass Save Sponsors provided tips and energy saving advice through a series of interviews on Fox 25 to raise awareness of all Mass Save’s energy saving programs and incentives. The first interview, aired over the summer, focused on the benefits of having a home energy assessment and shared information on available discounts and rebates for appliances.
