Award recognizes Sponsors' commitment to fighting climate change through energy efficiency initiatives
BOSTON (March 28, 2023) – The Sponsors of Mass Save® today announce they have received the 2023 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for the third year in a row.
The Sustained Energy Excellence Award is the highest honor presented by the ENERGY STAR program. It recognizes the Sponsors' efforts to reduce customer energy bills by promoting ENERGY STAR certified products. The award also recognizes the Sponsors' long-term commitment to leading Massachusetts to a cleaner, net-zero future. Winners are a part of a distinguished group of national advocates who drive value for our environment, economy, and communities.

The ENERGY STAR program annually honors a select group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. ENERGY STAR award winners are essential in solving the climate crises and are recognized by ENERGY STAR for being leaders in their industries in the production, sale and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, building, services, and strategies.

Highlights of Massachusetts 2023 ENERGY STAR Savings include:
- Executed 12 online limited-time sales promotions responsible for selling ENERGY STAR certified products through the Mass Save online storefront, a 24/7 online marketplace
- Promoted online sales of ENERGY STAR certified products on social media channels throughout the year to continually drive sales to the storefront, including:
- 1,218 ENERGY STAR certified room air cleaners
- 25,866 ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats
- 433 ENERGY STAR certified dehumidifiers
- 23 ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioners
- Sold 14,381 ENERGY STAR certified appliances and electronics through partnerships with retailers using mail-in rebates and incentive programs, inluding:
- 2,545 ENERGY STAR certified dryers
- 5,051 ENERGY STAR certified dehumidifiers
- 2,492 ENERGY STAR certified pool pumps
- 4,268 ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioners
