About Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School

Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School (“Monty Tech”), located in the city of Fitchburg, is an independent regional vocational-technical school serving more than 1,400 students from 18 cities and towns.

Monty Tech is the second largest regional school district in the state. With 21 different programs, ranging from Culinary Arts to Plumbing to Health Occupations, their students are challenged every day to apply what they have learned in both their academic and vocational courses to real-life, real-world work scenarios.

Why They Are a 2023 Climate Leader

The Sponsors of Mass Save selected Monty Tech as a 2023 Climate Leader for their dedication to ongoing energy and operational efficiency not only in their facilities, but also through their instruction to students. Through training, their students helped implement a number of energy-saving measures to reduce overall consumption on campus.

Through these efforts, the campus has achieved savings of approximately 1,000 lifetime MWh through the installation of improved lighting, HVAC systems, variable speed drive motors, and more.
