Berkshire East Mountain Resort is also the only ski area in the world to generate 100% of their electricity from on-site renewable energy.
Why They Are a 2023 Climate Leader
The Sponsors of Mass Save selected Berkshire East Mountain Resort as a 2023 Climate Leader for their ongoing investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Various measures have been pursued, including:
- A Large Solar Field and Wind Turbine Installation
- Outdoor Lighting Upgrades for Night Skiing
- Energy-Efficient Snowmaking Equipment Upgrades
- Variable Speed Electric Compressor Installations
Through these efforts, Berkshire East Mountain Resort has saved nearly 600K kWh in electric savings and eliminated over 150 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
