Mini-split heat pump systems consist of two main parts – a condenser that sits outside your home and indoor air handlers that provide cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. There is usually no ductwork required, making installation relatively easy and unobtrusive.

One of the biggest advantages a mini-split system has over a central air conditioning system in terms of efficiency is the lack of ducts. On average, as much as 30% of conditioned air can escape duct work as it is delivered into each room of your home. Placing a few air handlers in different rooms throughout your home gives you the ability to create individual zones to cool in the summer or heat in the winter.
